One Rave, and Sorry!!

Wow, I just realized that it's been almost a month since I last wrote, I'm so sorry!!!!! Well, with NY fashion week in full swing, we're just beginning to see the genius behind upcoming collections such as Marc by Marc Jacobs; and did you know, if you have an iphone you can download an app that will give you updates on the fashion, as seen on the runways??? If I only had an iphone. Oh well.
I'm currently reading a book called Dear Zoe, by Philip Beard. One thing that makes it unique is that while this book is written from a totally realistic girl's perspective, it's written by a guy! I rarely read books like this, where a male author can really connect with his female main character. A lot of books I've read have had the female do and say unrealistic things, but this one is spot on; I can really relate to the character. Well, he does have three daughters, so that must account for some of it. But Dear Zoe is basically a letter from a girl to her dead 3-year-old half sister. At 196 pages, it's quite a long letter, but written in a chaper form so that it actually seems more like a book than a letter. In this letter, the girl describes the life that she lives now, after her half sister (Zoe) died, as well as the life she lived when Zoe was still alive. Another interesting twist is the fact that Zoe died on 9/11, the day when the rest of America was mourning for others; this further adds to the grief of her older half-sister, Tess; she feels as though he sister's death occured in the shadow of the 9/11 attacks. It's a very powerful story, and I definitely recommend reading it.
Spring's just around the corner, but enjoy the last seconds of winter!!!!!

Have fun

O
