You're probably wondering why I have all of those seemingly random pictures at the top of my blog. Well, those "random" pictures each have a very distinct meaning, because, for me, they represent many of the things that I rant and rave about in this blog. I will start at the upper left corner and work down each row, from left to right. The top left picture is a movie poster from the recent movie Star Trek, which just made my list as the best movie I've ever seen. Truly. The next picture, to the right, is from the TV show Gossip Girl, made from the bestselling book series titled Gossip Girl. The characters, from left to right, are: Blair, the "mean girl" of the series, Nate, the guy torn between Blair and Serena, who is on the right, Serena, who is a nice girl, best friends with Blair, Dan, a scholarship student living in Brooklyn who tries hard to fit in with the scene and is Serena's boyfriend, Chuck, who at the end of the second season finally gets together with the woman he loves, Blair, and lastly, Jenny, who is Dan's younger sister and who tries hard to fit in with the "older kids". On the next row, there's the movie poster for Twilight's sequel, New Moon, which is set to come out in November, the characters being Edward, Jacob, and Bella. The next photo, the one slightly above the New Moon poster, is one of a model named Coco Rocha. One of the main reasons that I absolutely love her is because she is such a good influence. "Yes, I do eat," she exclaims in a TV interview as she shows the host around her apartment, and she also doesn't smoke, drink, or do many other things that models are accused of doing for the sake of staying thin. Directly below that is my favorite reality show, Project Runway, featuring supermodel Heidi Klum as the main host for the show. Contestants who show promise must show judges that they are fit for the fashion world by designing and sewing by themselves various outfits and costumes that are always harder than they seem. For instance, contestants once had to sew an outfit from items found in a grocery store, and in another challenge, they had to sew an outfit from items found at a recycling plant.
The next picture, directly to the right, is one of probably one of the most famous fashion icons of all time, Coco Chanel. The mother of my favorite clothing brand, Chanel, she started out with humble beginnings, opening a hat shop in Paris and slowly expanding until she had built the infamous fashion brand, Chanel. She was also the one who introduced tanning to become part of the height of fashion, showing up at a fashion show very tanned from a recent vacation, her female counterparts being as white as sheets.
On the next row, we have supermodel Karlie Kloss, who is only 15 and is already the face of the Dolce & Gabbana fashion campaign, as well as the upcoming face of the Alexander McQueen fashion campaign. Next, we have a couple of electronics, of course, Nokia's Vertu phone, complete with 24/7 concierge service, at your disposal to do anything from finding and booking a restaurant to finding a private jet to take you wherever you need to go.
And, of course, the iPhone. Enough said.
Love always,
Olivia
